This policy describes the privacy practices for the website in the domain acvf.ca (this “Website”). This Website contains links to other websites, such as canadahelps.org, which have their own privacy and security policies. Once you link to another website you are subject to the privacy and security policy of the other website.

 

A Child’s Voice Foundation (the “Foundation”) is committed to protecting the privacy of those it serves and those from whom it receives donations or time based resources.

 

The Foundation receives personal information from donors, volunteers and recipients of the Foundation’s programs through telephone, personal contact, correspondence, online contact, event registrations or other forms of communication. By “personal information,” we mean any information that can be used to identify or contact a specific individual. This personal information may be recorded for the purpose of processing donations, receipting them, recognizing a contribution, registering participation in a meeting or an event, or acknowledging and responding to information requests about the work of the Foundation or its programs.

 

Personal information gathered by the Foundation is kept in confidence and will never be shared, traded, sold or used in any manner not described in this policy or otherwise expressly approved by you.

The Foundation maintains records of all donations made to it, as required by the Canada Revenue Agency. All personal information collected is retained under the supervision of theAll personal information collected is retained under the supervision of the Executive Director of the Foundation.

All employees and volunteers are required to abide by the Foundation’s confidentiality policy which provides for the protection of personal information of donors or those accessing the services of the Foundation. All collected information is kept private and confidential (unless the Foundation has been provided with an individual’s consent to disclose details of contributions made or services received), is stored in a secure location and is accessible only by authorized personnel.

 

You will not receive marketing email from this organization unless you have consented to receive it. Individuals have the right to remove their names from the Foundation’s mailing list and a right of access to any personal information about themselves that have been retained by the Foundation. These rights may be exercised by contacting the Executive Director of the Foundation at 1.888.837.3354 or info@acvf.ca.

 

The Foundation will not provide donors’ personal information with third parties unless:

  • The donor authorizes the Foundation to share the information,

  • Sharing the information is necessary to process a donation, such as through a credit card transaction, or

  • The Foundation is required by law to disclose the information.
